Leather_Chairs_150Leather furniture can add both a contemporary vibe and a "sense of the classic" to just about any room, but it can also require a sizeable investment. If you decide to furnish your Preferred space with leather furniture, follow these tips to keep it looking great.

General Leather Care Tips

  • Keep sharp objects away from your leather couch or chairs. While it's very durable, leather can be ripped.
  • Protect leather furniture from sunlight. Some leathers, such as full and semi-aniline, will fade over time.
  • Place your furniture at least two feet from radiators and other heat sources.
  • Protect furniture from cigar and cigarette smoke, cooking fumes and other forms of air pollution which can cause leather to fade or change color.
  • Dust your leather furniture once a week with a soft cloth. Ask your furniture dealer for information on cleaning products, protectors and conditioners and how often you should use them.
  • Never use saddle soaps, oils, all-purpose cleaners or solvents to clean your leather furniture. These products can damage the finish. Most spills will blot up easily with a dry cloth or paper towel.
