TIPS FOR COOLING YOUR SUNBURN

  |     |   Preferred Living

Getting sunburned is a painful reminder of the importance of sunscreen when you lay by the pool for a day. Here are some tips for treating a sunburn.

Aloe
This plant is known for fighting pain, inflammation and much more. Applying it to sun burnt skin is often soothing.

Oatmeal
Don’t have time to go out and buy aloe? Grab a cup of oatmeal, one cup of milk, two tablespoons of honey and some water. Mix it all together and apply it to your skin, or soak in a bath tub with this mixture.

Black Tea
Black tea can also do the trick. Brew some black tea, let it cool and pour it into a spray bottle so you can easily apply it to your skin. Wipe the mixture off after 5-10 minutes.

Apple cider vinegar
Pouring apple cider vinegar into a spray bottle and applying it to your sunburn will prevent your skin from blistering and peeling.

Cucumber
Have some cucumber in the refrigerator? Cut one up and apply it to your skin for a soothing remedy.

If home remedies aren’t for you, your local pharmacy will have multiple solutions for soothing your sunburn. Some common solutions include: cortisone, burn cream, acriflex, solarcaine spray and many more.
