Ringing in the New Year, Columbus Style

  |     |   News

Not ringing in the New Year with Carson Daly by singing “Auld Lang Syne” in Times Square?

Fear not, because Columbus and central Ohio have plenty of fun and festive ways to celebrate the arrival of another 365 days. Whether you’re downtown, the Brewery District, the Short North or points in between, Columbus has you covered in the fun department on New Year’s Eve.

We’ve selected several highlights from the many ways Columbus is going to party like it’s (about to be) 2019:

Columbus Renaissance Hotel

The Columbus Renaissance Hotel hosts three rooms of entertainment with its NYE party from 8:30 p.m. to 2 a.m. A ticket for about $110 includes general admission, heavy hors d’oeuvres and seven alcoholic drink tickets. VIP packages start at $140. Hotel rooms ordered separately.

Hilton Columbus Downtown

The Hilton Columbus Downtown is throwing an NYE celebration in its Gallerie Bistro. A $75 ticket includes a four-course prix-fixe meal, along with valet parking and champagne toast. Call (614) 384-8600 for reservations.

First Night Columbus

For more than 20 years, First Night Columbus has been the family-friendly way of ringing in the new year. Hosted at COSI from 5:30 p.m. to midnight, the event showcases a variety of visual and performing arts that can be enjoyed by all ages. Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 on New Year’s Eve. More information on entertainment will be coming soon.

The Big Bang Columbus

Sing, laugh and dance the night away at the Big Bang Columbus, which is hosting its Bangin’ Bash event. The dueling piano event features a number of ticket options from its Eventbrite page.

Columbus Blue Jackets

Prefer your New Year’s Eve festivities near the ice, watching athletic men in skates check each other into the boards and hopefully ending 2018 with a victory? The Columbus Blue Jackets look to continue their winning season when they host the Ottawa Senators at Nationwide Arena. Puck drops at 7 p.m. After the game, check out all the revelry going on in the Arena District.

No matter what you do or where you go for the big night, enjoy it safely. We hope your 2018 was a year full of good memories with family and friends and we look forward to helping you make many more as we go for another trip around the sun in 2019!
