The Construction Accountant will be responsible to support the Director of Accounting to ensure the timely and accurate reporting of multi-family development projects from site development to turning completed units over to operations. This will be done through ensuring the accuracy of payables, real-time job cost reports, GL adjustments, and variance reporting to both effect decisions at the field level on ongoing projects and provide critical analysis in the refinement of future budgets. Primary Responsibilities:

Adhere to interdepartmental policies and procedures with construction, accounting & finance to maintain efficient invoice processing and job cost review.

Assist Director of Accounting with invoice, budget & contract entry and maintaining their integrity via review of invoice entry and the flow into job cost reports.

Prepare monthly construction loan draws.

Perform monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations.

Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries regarding invoicing.

Ensure compliance/updates for lien waivers, subcontractor insurance and other administrative items.

Complete other miscellaneous tasks as needed and ad hoc analysis.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

3 years' experience in accounting (preferably in the construction industry)

Knowledge of general accounting procedures

Strict attention to detail and excellent Excel skills

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree (Required) / Bachelor degree (Preferred)
  • Accounting experience: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Microsoft Excel: 1 year (Preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
