Resident Endorsement

Madison Park Resident: Shelby

My roommate and I LOVE Madison Park. The 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment we live in is complete with updated kitchen appliances and an amazing laundry room. Our balcony is quaint and adorable. The paint on the apartment walls is flawless and we get compliments from every guest that comes over. Mail and trash are conveniently located and the membership to the Sawmill gym is clutch. So happy we live here!

Madison Park Resident: Autumn

I live at Madison Park and I love it! I live in a spacious one bedroom, one bathroom apartment with a large living room, a balcony, a large kitchen. My apartment has new appliances including a washer and dryer in my unit. I have not had any issues with my apartment and any time I have needed assistance the Madison Park team has responded instantly to my requests. I have never been disturbed by neighbors apartments and the area is safe. I would highly recommend this apartment complex to others whether you are a single person or a couple people looking to live in a lovely, spacious apartment!

Berkley House Resident: Chris

Chris is an expert when it comes to Preferred Living communities, considering he's lived in three of our properties in the last few years. "A city like Columbus has countless options for housing, but honestly none compare to the communities of Preferred Living. The combination of price, amenities, and sense of community are unmatched by anyone else," said Chris.

His favorite Preferred Living residence so far is the Berkley House community. Complete with scenic views of the Scioto River, Berkley House offers a variety of comforts – starting in the lobby. "Imagine starting your day with a freshly brewed (and free!) Starbucks coffee as you sit in the contemporary décor of the lobby with a log fire place burning in the winter as you catch up on Sportscenter on one of the 6 TVs at the bar," Chris said of the residence. "Bored throughout the day? Enjoy a game of pool or some classic games in the arcade."

Chris suggests you spend your seasons with the variety of amenities that Berkley House offers. "Summer downtime? How about a dip in a pool that many resorts can't even compete with? Want to shed that winter fluff? There's a full gym on site," he said.

As always, the staff at Preferred Living residences like to go above and beyond. Here's what Chris had to say about the staff at Berkley House, "They are some of the most helpful, upbeat, and friendly that I've ever encountered. The list goes on and on, but don't take my word for it, find out for yourself!"

Madison Park Resident: Brianna

After she experienced our contagious excitement during her community tour, Brianna moved into Madison Park in May of 2015.

"There are a lot of young professionals at Madison Park, so I'm very comfortable here," said Brianna, who works with special needs children and is pursuing a master's degree. "All the tenants are very respectful. "There's no loud music late at night," which she says is a welcome change from other apartment communities she's lived in.

"But it's not boring," she said. "The staff here, who are super friendly and helpful, are always planning something for the residents." Past events have included wine and cheese nights, game nights and ice cream socials. "They even had ice cream for Marley and the other dogs!" she noted, speaking of her lab-mix puppy and the other dogs in the neighborhood.

One thing Brianna noted is that "you get what you pay for" here at Madison Park. "All the finishes are really top-notch, and we have a free membership to the Premier at Sawmill Athletic Club, which actually saves us money."

Brianna and her boyfriend are planning to buy a house together in the next few years, but in the meantime "Madison Park feels like home."

We're glad to hear it.

Taylor House Resident: Kali

Kali is obsessed with her brand new Taylor House suite. It's got a huge floor plan with a beautiful kitchen and all new appliances. "And there's a washer and dryer IN MY SUITE," she said. Because, seriously, nothing makes you feel more grown up that having your own washer and dryer.

Taylor House is pet-friendly, too, so there are always cute dogs around. And the staff is amazing, says Kali. "When we moved in, the elevator was temporarily out of order. Cory, the manager, and his team helped us haul everything to the fourth floor, and even let us store a particularly heavy piece of furniture on the first floor until the elevator was functional. Then, Cory and another staffer loaded into the elevator and hefted it all the way into my suite for me."

Plus, Taylor House is located close to 315, and there are all sorts of dining and shopping opportunities right in the neighborhood. "I love it here!" said Kali.

Taylor House Resident: Scarlet

Scarlet and her husband moved into Taylor House about six months ago. She says one of the best things about Taylor House is the location – it’s close to restaurants, shopping and transportation.

They also love the on-trend design and lifestyle amenities Taylor House offers. Their morning routine includes FREE Starbucks coffee, and they often have friends over to play pool and watch movies in the common area. Scarlet and her husband also enjoy the swimming and tanning at the court yard.

But they say their favorite things about living at Taylor house is the hospitality of the staff. “Everyone’s so kind and helpful,” said Scarlet. “And the activities they organize every month really make us feel like we live close-knit community.

Alexander Park Resident: Bari

Bari moved to Columbus for work and found that Preferred Living's Alexander Park fit the bill in terms of her lifestyle and needs. She enjoys working out at the on-site fitness center, shopping for fashion bargains in Grandview, and joining her friends for a bite at locally owned restaurants in Columbus. Check out what she has to say about how living at Alexander Square has helped her achieve Life, Upgraded!

Why did you choose to live at Alexander Park?
I chose to live at Alexander Park first because of the convenient location. I'm less than a mile away from work, less than ten minutes to the Polaris area and to 270, so it's easy for me to get to any other part of the city. Additionally, for the quality of amenities, (24-hour well equipped and perfectly maintained fitness center, large pool with outdoor games, Starbucks on tap, and pool tables in the club house) the rent is very reasonable.

Which amenities do you find yourself taking advantage of most?
The amenity I take advantage of most is the fitness center. The flexibility it allows me by staying open 24 hours a day and being a 30 second walk from my suite can't be beat. It's like saving $50 a month on a gym membership! I am actually quitting my current gym for this reason and won't be giving much up except an extra bill. They also always stock the room with towels and bottles of water which goes above any other fitness facility at a community in the area. With a handful of TVs individually controlled by remotes we can grab at any time, my workouts are much more entertaining than being forced to watch something I didn't choose. Once it's warm again, I can't wait to enjoy the great pool too!

Have you participated in any organized activities or events at Alexander Park? If so, what was your favorite?
I participated in the wine tasting event held in the clubhouse, which was a fun opportunity to taste a few different wines and sample coordinating snacks.

Where do you like to shop and dine in Columbus?
I love to shop in the Grandview area because they have great second hand shops that always have amazing bargains on stylish clothes. It's a quick drive down 315 to get there, so I never feel too far away. Of course the Polaris Fashion Place and Easton Town Center shopping districts are great destinations to get anything for the entire family as well.

Both malls also offer excellent dining options like Cooper's Hawk, Bonefish Grill, Eddie Merlot's, Cantina Laredo, Northstar Cafe, and Bon Vie Bistro. If I'm not in those areas, my dining preference is Short North with the eclectic mix of locally owned restaurants serving unique dishes in a lively part of town.

Preferred Living Communities promote living Life, Upgraded. How has living at Alexander Park provided that experience for you?
My living situation was definitely upgraded moving to Alexander Park. The maintenance team is extremely responsive, the workout center, pool, and club house are perfectly maintained, and the fixtures and set up of the suite are ideal for a roommate situation. I couldn't ask for a better community suited for young professionals in Columbus.
